York
York and the surrounding country has plenty of things for everyone: couples, families, solo travellers or groups of friends. Some of our favourites are below:
York Minster
Your first view of the minster will not be disappointing - truly awesome - as it has been described (including the tower and croft). There are admission charges, but it is free during service times.
Bar Walls
We recommend the walk of the walls, which close at dusk or due to extreme weather, because they give a lovely first view of the city. It takes approx. 1 hour to walk and is free.
The Shambles
Just to wander the streets of York is an absolute pleasure - don't forget to look up at the buildings!
